Artistic Description

DNA was a many secret messages, which can at last be accessed, and so it is in these prints. You will have to look carefully to discover the DNA.

In the print we see vertical bands and colourful circles distracting ones gaze from the DNA hidden message. This can just be seen in the first left hand column. We have re-interpreted the scientific test data observed in laboratory called ‘cluster analysis of gene micro-arrays using screen-printed translucent and opaque circles of colour.

Technical Description

In the print, DNA Hidden Message 3, we see vertical bands of deep blues, greens, yellows and pinks. The DNA structure, with it’s hidden message, sits in the first left hand column. Subtle and opaque cirles of colour screenprinted in water based inks are banded with strong acid bright oil based flourescents. Their structures mirror the scientific test results observed in cluster analysis of gene microarray data.
