Artistic Description

DNA was a many secret messages, which can at last be accessed, and so it is in these prints. You will have to look carefully to discover the DNA.

‘Transformations in Science and Art’ which is a forty-two metres long artwork, inspired this series of prints. In this original artwork, a milky coloured DNA image glows in the dark, but is hidden in daylight. This was achieved by screen-printing the image using phosphorescent inks. If you look very carefully in the lower section of this print and you will see a milky coloured DNA structure.

Technical Description

On careful scrutiny of DNA Hidden Message 1, one can see at the base of the print, the milky DNA structure. In the original Transformations in Science and Art artwork, the DNA structure glows briefly in the darkhidden in daylight - being screenprinted onto the artwork with phosphouresence inks. The layers of circles float on different levels, mesmerising the viewer, the circles , a representation of the repeated testings in scientific research.
